Noel
Puerto
Pollensa  Apartment
Mallorca

This is a three double bedroom penthouse apartment, sleeping six. with air conditioning in all rooms, in Puerto Pollensa, the so called 'Jewel of Mallorca'; 50 paces from the sandy beach and within the prestigious Pine Walk and ILLA D'OR Hotel area.

The terrace is very large and receives the sun all day. A great place for sunbathing.

It is a quiet area with supermarkets and restaurants nearby but just a short pleasant stroll to the Port, further restaurants and the main shopping area.

The beaches here are never crowded and are as safe as they come for small children.

There is a tennis court and large swimming pool available at the Bonanza Bar and Restaurant next door but one. Use of the swimming pool requires no more than you buying a light refreshment there e.g. soft drink, coffee, wine, etc, or more as you wish, probably consumed at a poolside table or sun bed.

The "Small Town By The Sea", Puerto Pollensa, used to be just a small fishing port popular with the merchants of Palma who built palatial retreats along what is now known as the Pine Walk. About 60 years ago it discovered tourism and, whilst becoming quite stylish, still prides itself as being one of the most unspoilt resorts on the 'Baleare' Islands. It has a very varied selection of  restaurants, ranging from cafeterias to high quality fish and seafood restaurants.

"We first visited Puerto Pollensa some 40 years ago, staying at a 'pension', when it was just beginning to wake up to the opportunities of  attracting tourists. We did not return until some 11 years ago when we found  a very different place.

Fortunately, the developments were restrained and mostly attractive apartments.

This time we stayed in the Noel apartment, owned then by a Glaswegian. We continued to rent the apartment from him for a number of years until we were finally able to persuade him to sell it to us.

This is our sixth year and in the intervening time we have installed a new kitchen, new bath and shower rooms, air conditioning in all the rooms and generally brought the apartment into the modern age - it was built in 1975 - not to mention the Satellite TV, providing all the terrestrial UK channels, and the gas BBQ.

The nice thing is that the beach is just over the road, just right for a quick dip from the beaches after baking on the terrace. The area is quiet but only a pleasant stroll along the lovely Pine Walk to the centre of Puerto Pollensa.

Incidentally the terrace also has a shaded area, with an overhead fan, so that if, like me, you take the sun in measured quantities retreat is close at hand.

We trust that you will be able to enjoy it as much as we do."
